We’re now hosting beehives at The Ridge in Delft and De Evert in The Hague, thanks to our partnership with Alvéole.
The Ridge in Delft has been hosting its hive since April 2023, and two years later, De Evert in The Hague is joining the bee party. Alvéole, the experts behind these buzzing initiatives, help turn urban spaces into bee-friendly places, encouraging biodiversity and offering sweet rewards (like our very own honey).
Alvéole got beehives installed on over 2,200 commercial buildings, helping companies like us bring a little bit of nature back to the city. And it’s not just about the honey. It’s about connecting communities and raising awareness about our impact on nature. Plus, they’ve made it super easy to stay in the loop through their MyHive platform, where you can follow the bees’ journey, keep track of hive visits, and even book workshops. Visit Alvéole’s website for regular updates on the beehives at The Ridge and De Evert.

The Ridge’s bees have been buzzing along for two years now in the shared garden. With spring now in full swing, the queen is ramping up her egg-laying game, and the hive is bustling with both seasoned winter bees and fresh-faced spring rookies. The bees are loving the blooming apple, pear, and cherry trees in the garden.
Alvéole’s beekeepers keep us posted with hive visits and updates, and they even host workshops so you can meet the bees up close. They’ve also got the bees covered with extra brood boxes to help the growing colony spread their wings.

Last year, The Ridge residents joined the Meet Your Bees workshop, organized by Alvéole. Residents from 13 nationalities joined beekeeper Armel. They checked out the bees and brood in the observation hive and faced the rain to open the hive and have a quick peek.

Besides being adorable, these bees play a critical role in pollinating plants and boosting local biodiversity. The honey they produce is also a sweet bonus, which residents at The Ridge have already had the pleasure of tasting.
De Evert got its hive installed on the 11th-floor rooftop terrace on April 1, 2025 – no joke! A few days later, it was already buzzing with bees. The surrounding garden, planted last November, is just starting to bloom, giving the new bee neighbors plenty of flowers to pollinate.

On April 1, Avéole placed a beehive at the rooftop garden of De Evert in The Hague.
Curious to see the bees in action? You can follow their journey through the MyHive platform and stay updated. Who knows, you might just walk away with some freshly harvested honey. Alvéole’s beekeepers love chatting with curious residents while working with the bees. If you see them around, feel free to say hi!
We’re excited to watch these hives grow and thrive. After all, bees bring people together, just like our communities at Holland2Stay.
